Back to School

Adam is headed back to school! After weeks of fasting and praying for a job we were inspired to head back to school. A lot of the jobs Adam was seeing for the oil industry were wanting certified master mechanics for the large diesel engines. He did a little a research on the Internet and found a school nearby in Grand Prairie. Adam and I went on a tour and talked to a few people. I knew right away this was going to be a great fit for Adam. The only thing left was for Adam to pass the entrance exam. Because of his dyslexia we were worried this would be an issue. They wouldn't allow him accommodations for the exam so he had to go in there without any help. There were around 16 people taking the test. Over half of them were retaking the test. It covered English and Math. The first part of the test was timed. The second time you were given the exact same questions with unlimited time. When he came home that night he had a horrible headache and wasn't sure if he passed or not. If he didn't pass he had one more chance to pass. The recruiter called the next day and told Adam he had passed and on the timed portion of the test! We were extremely excited. He finished his first week last week and is pumped. He said he knew we made the right decision and felt good about it. He will finish in April of next year.

P.S. only 4 people passed that test and Adam was one of them :0)

This is so awesome... maybe a blessing in disguise... a hard blessing. :-) You guys are awesome! Does this mean you are staying in the area for awhile?

That's awesome, and because I have similar testing issues, I'm glad he passed. As for your other posts: I loved the one about you and Todd and his acid thingy-to funny because I've done similar. Spring break holy crow batman you were busy, and again congrats to Adam.

Yeah! So it totally is meant to be! I am so glad you for you guys! What a stress taking those kinds of tests are. I think it is almost as hard for the spouse as the one taking the test! With wll the worry and no way to help! What a blessing to have passed on the first time! Congrats!
