Todd goes to the hospital.

Todd has had acid reflux and stomach pain since last year. It got worse over spring break and that was with taking his medication. We went to a specialist, Dr. O, and he wanted to do a scope and a PH probe. My mom was able to come over Sunday night and stay with Reagan while the rest of us left to the hospital early Monday morning. I explained to Todd in GREAT detail everything that would be done.

Todd was doing great until they gave him the loopy medicine and he wouldn't leave the heart monitor alone. They finally had to tape it on his finger. He was funny! The procedure went really fast. Dr. O was able to bring us pictures from the scope. They looked great. The second part of the procedure was the PH probe. The PH probe study has a tube the size of a piece of spaghetti that you have to keep in your nose for 18-24 hours. It goes down to the bottom of the esophagus to measure the amount of acid that arises. When Todd woke up from the anesthesia he went crazy trying to take the tape off his face. I went back there and tried to comfort him. Adam went back there and was able to calm him down. He received two Popsicles and was ready to get dressed. I asked Adam to switch me again and let me get him dressed. While helping him get dressed Todd asked me when he was going to get the sleepy medicine. He didn't remember anything. He didn't remember being upset about the tape and thrashing around. Nothing.

He did a great job of carrying the machine around with him all day. I let him push the buttons at the appropriate times. Now we just have to wait for the results of that and the biopsy.
