Career Day

Last week, Todd had college/career day at his school to promote higher education. We had been discussing what he would like to be for several days. At one point he wanted to be a soldier. I asked him if he wanted to fly jets. "Yeah mommy, that sounds like fun." The night before the big day, he changed his mind. He wanted to be a Dog Catcher. In mind I was thinking, really? He was so excited about it. I started to say, "You know Todd that really isn't a very fun job." I stopped myself from explaining that most of the dogs the Dog Catcher picks up are euthanized. When I asked him why he wanted to be a Dog Catcher, this is what he said: I get to go pick up the dogs and then I get to give them to people. Like for Christmas. Sometime I get to rescue the dogs and take them to the hospital. What an awesome kid I have! Okay, Todd a Dog Catcher it is.

Why can't life be as sweet and wonderful as our kids imagine it is? Go with it Todd!

Cute kid.

I Realize that you need to get your kids excited about education, but it cracks me up that they are having a pick your degree day in kindergarten. I didn't know what I wanted to be until I got my Associates degree, and even then, it was more a fact that I HAD to pick a degree.
