What NOT to do in Texas in July

We headed out for another adventure with the Quinn Family on Monday. They were marking off another place to visit before they leave Texas. The Dinosaur park was listed as one of the top 10 things to do by Yahoo. I had never been and the kids were free! We got there around 12:00 and found out all the creeks and water spots were dried up and stagnent. It was HOT to say the least. I am glad I had just purchased a 24 pack of water because I was constantly pouring water all over our heads and our bodies to try and keep cool. We were told there was one spot that did have some water in it. None of these locations were easy to get to. That little watering whole was nasty too. Todd fell in and was upset he had mud all over him and down his pants. Todd was crying and decided to strip down naked because he had pokey things all over him. That would be sand. Reagan was crying on my hip because she was just plain miserable. We left.

Wow, you are brave! My kids keep wanting to go, and I tell them "Not until Fall!" (: Love the pictures with naked Todd - don't you love kids and their practical solutions?

I am sure the best moment for you, was driving home in the air-conditioned car with two sleeping babies and a big shake! You two truly are brave for going out there to see it, I am doing nothing outside if I can help it!

Thanks for being such a good sport...next time rethink any idea that I might have. Sorry it was such a bust!! But hey, one more thing marked off my to do list. However, I think I might enjoy going at a different time of year:) You up for it....?

OH! I'm so sorry! I took the kids last summer (August) and we had a great time-- it wasn't nearly as hot and water to play in was plentiful. This is ONE HOT SUMMER (and of course we both get to be pregnant through it too!!!)
