Halloween 2012!

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays!  Layton is still asking me if Halloween is tomorrow.  This year we had Pirate Todd, Layton as Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates (he was very serious about portraying a pirate) and Reagan a beautiful and magical Witch.

Todd's ensemble is complete with a rum bag.
Layton is very serious with his angry pirate look.
Reagan had a hard time with that hat.

We always go out to MoMo and Paw Paw's house on Halloween.  The kids love showing off their costumes and consuming all the yummy candy they receive.

Pumpking guts!

The are always so excited to get home and hand out candy.

Family Home Evening ~ Halloween Style

I think that the holidays make coming up with fun FHE ideas easier.  I found this idea from sugardoodle.net

It was a short and funny lesson just perfect for my young family.  After the lesson was over, we had caramel apples.  Paw Paw and Mo Mo boo'd our house last night and dropped off a package of caramel and shiny green apples.

The not so scary spider.

We took our little family to Garden Ridge to buy some new Halloween decor. Our kids are getting older and really look forward to decorating the house and yard . We found a huge and hairy spider to add to our new collection.  After school Reagan and I were looking at the huge spider and she said to me, "Mom, this will scare the kids".  I suggested some ideas and she went with it.  She spent a half hour picking out each bow to place on the spider's legs.

See, not so scary now.

Halloween 2010

We celebrated Halloween with not one but two Trunk or Treats. The kids were so excited when I told them they could finally put on their costumes and say these three words, "TRICK or TREAT". Friday night, we went to MoMo and Pawpaw's ward. Reagan wasn't feeling well so she and Adam stayed home and watched TV in bed. Todd was sweet enough to share all his candy with her.

Saturday night, we went to our Trunk or Treat. Reagan was so excited for me to do her hair. When I told her I was going to put makeup on her she smiled so big! It was a sweet moment there in the bathroom applying makeup to my sweet Reagan's face. She loved the lipstick the most. She listened intently to my instructions on separating and puckering her lips. Hunter and Ryan came over that day too. We had five excited kids running around ready to get some treats.

The Pumpkin Patch 2010

Since Todd was out of school on Monday, we drove to our favorite pumpkin patch. Todd and Reagan had a blast going through each activity. Layton enjoyed riding in the wagon and chewing on pumpkins.

Halloween Eve & Halloween Night

We have had a busy two days of costumes and candy.

Friday night

We went to Trunk or Treat at church. It was really cold that evening. Todd and Reagan didn't care! Layton was warm and snuggled up in his carrier asleep. We took pictures before we left.

Halloween Night

We started the evening off eating dinner at the Quinn's house. We made spider web pizzas and crusty mummies with hot dogs.

After that we met up with a few more friends and off we went running through the neighborhood trick or treating. The kids had so much fun! It is always such a treat to see your kids so excited! Next year, our little Layton will be walking the streets with us. Kids really do make the holidays special.

Until next year... Happy Halloween!

The PUMPKIN patch

We decided to hit a different pumpkin patch this year. We also waited until it was the last Saturday before Halloween. Oh, how we try for our kids! It was CRAZY! Not to mention the traffic getting there and back was insane due to the air show. Todd had a good time. He was able to ride two rides in an hour. We rode the hayride ALL together. Reagan really liked that. Maybe next year we won't wait until everyone else decides to go.
