My Water Broke...

On Monday morning around 3:30a.m., my water broke. It was weird. It was well, wet. I told Adam to come and take a look. Half asleep he stumbled over to my side of the bed. He couldn't see anything. Walking down the hall it didn't stop. I hadn't packed a bag yet because I wasn't due to be induced until Thursday. Adam had been badgering me the previous night to get it packed. I didn't listen. I called the hospital and they said to come on in. I started packing my bag. I started writing down and telling my mom instructions for everything I could think of. As we drove to the hospital we stopped at the store. Adam grabbed himself an energy drink and me a soda. We were singing along to the radio. Pain free and happy! A first for me because I am usually in no mood for anything but to get that epidural.

When they finally wheeled me up to labor and delivery it was around 8:30 a.m. They hooked me up to the pit around then. I can't remember what time I received my epidural but I got it and life was good again. Layton wasn't doing well with my contractions. His heart beat would drop each time. When it was finally time to push they doctor reminded me that the baby didn't do well with me laying on my back and to get him out. I pushed three times and at 4:35 pm my sweet baby came into the world.

He weighed 7 pounds even. Measured 19 1/4 inches long. My smallest baby! He has dark brown hair. He is PERFECT. I am overwhelmed with the love I feel for him. I am so grateful Heavenly Father has given me another child to love and care for.

My little Artist

This is what she did while I lay nesting on the couch this morning. She went to the craft cabinet pulled out the crayons and brought them to me. I obliged and gave her some paper. She quickly got to work. I don't know when we went from the eating the crayons to coloring with the crayons but what a relief. She colored and watched her movie, Jungle Book 2, for at least thirty minutes while I layed lifeless on the couch. It was wonderful! Maybe tomorrow we will try markers...

It's GREAT to be 8!

Ashley turned eight and we were so excited to attend her baptism. Adam had the flu and Reagan started to feel bad the night before. They stayed home while Todd and I headed down to Houston with Aunt Kathy. We arrived just in time to get dressed and ready for the baptism. She was baptized and confirmed by her daddy. She looked so beautiful in her white dress. It was the same dress her two older sisters wore in their baptism. It was such a fun day! We were so fortunate to hang out with everyone for most of the day before heading back home. Thanks Ahsley, for inviting us to be there on your special day!

We had so much fun hanging out with everyone

Free Agency or something like that...

Do you like my outfit? I do! I picked it out ALL by myself. My mom wants to put me in clothes that match and shoes that fit my feet. We argue over this a lot! It's my free agency, right? My mom says she was too tired to fight with me today. Too bad she isn't going to be nine months pregnant forever. In the meantime, I am going to take advantage of this. I don't think my hair needs to be combed or put in a ponytail either. I like it to get crusty and sticky from food. I think I look fabulous!
