Lunch with Todd

Todd was asking all last week when we were going to come and eat lunch with him. They asked the kindergarten parents to wait until the second week of school to come and eat with the kids. Monday, Reagan and I headed out to meet Todd at 10:30 for lunch. Pretty early for lunch, huh?

My Kindergarten Boy

My Handsome boy

Daddy and Todd

Walking into the classroom

My last Hug and Kiss

I can't believe the day has come and passed. I had so many emotions leading up to it. I was sad and excited. Bittersweet. They go to school ALL day and he has to get up super early. 7:40-2:40. They also are required to wear uniform. I was a bummed about that too. I felt that it would take away from the fun of getting ready for school. It would prevent people from knowing his two favorite shirts in the world are a red Pokemon shirt and a red Mario Brothers shirt. The first day of pick up was pure mayhem. I left the house twenty minutes early and that was NOT early enough. I was in tears by the time I got to him at 3:00. I was worried he was worried. I was worried he would think I wasn't coming. Not to mention the fact that it was 102 degrees outside. I was mad, sad, and hormonal. Pregnancy. I put on my smile and tried really hard not to break down when the teacher brought him over to the car door. I said, "HI TODD!!" He was smiling. The first thing he said within seconds was, "Mommy I had a GREAT day!" All emotional turmoil was forgotten.

A Killebrew Family Tradition with Pawpaw & Momo

It is tradition for every grandchild that turns five and ready for kindergarten to go shopping for school clothes with Momo. This year, Momo was too sick to go. So, Papa gladly stepped in to fulfill this family tradition.

Todd could not wait to play in the mall park and after every clothing pick he would ask if he could play now. The school district requires school uniform so choices were minimal. Papa would say, "Todd do you like this color?" We would find the right style and size and that was it. Papa would say, "Okay, what else do we need?" In between choices they would jab at each other and wrestle.

By the end of the third store I decided to drop the two of them off at the play area and shop by myself. It was best. They were happy.
We ended the trip with an ice cream sundae for Todd and cookies and soda for Tom and I.

Thank you Pawpaw and Momo for the cool clothes and shoes that Todd hasn't taken off since the day we got them. Papa claimed he could run faster in them and jump higher. We have had several test and I do believe he was right!

Dear Miss Moretti,

Tonight is *Meet the Teacher Night* at Todd's school. I decided to write a little something about Todd to give to his new teacher. I included information about his siblings, likes, dislikes, and personality traits. When I asked Todd what he wanted to tell his new teacher about himself this is EXACTLY what he said said:

Dear Miss Moretti,

I am five. I like to have fun. I am a good dancer. I look cool. I am funny. That's it.

Love,
Todd

P.S. Don't you wish you had the confidence of a 5 year old!

What's under there?

It just keeps growing...and growing...

Bowling with Grandpa

We were lucky to have my parents in town for two weeks. The first week my dad was actually off and was able to hang out with us for a couple of days. He decided to take Todd bowling. Reagan and I stayed home with Grandma. They played three games and Todd won one. My dad said Todd had to do a dance after every bowl. He was super excited to come home and tell me all about it.

His LUCKY ball
